Karachi Club Biography
Karachi Club is one of the most prestigious and oldest Clubs of Karachi, established in 1907 it has grown immensely over the years. Social, Cultural and Sports are naturally the main activities of the Club.
The Club offers a wide range of facilities to its members. We have over 8500 members on our roll and areaffiliated with reciprocal arrangements with almost 32 renowned clubs within Pakistan and Overseas. The Club’s main building is centrally air conditioned, with granite flooring. The Reception Area has an automatic glass door, a spacious Lobby which has a very relaxing ambiance, a T.V. Lounge with a 56” Cable T.V. with over 100 channels from all around the World, a state of the art Dinning Hall which can cater for 120 persons with soft surround music. A Billiards Room, where National and International Tournaments are held each year. A large Banquet Hall used frequently for parties and meetings.
Other multifarious sporting facilities include, a beautiful Sports Complex with air conditioned Badminton, Table Tennis and Squash Courts, 4 international standard Tennis Courts, a very modern Health & Fitness Room, a beautiful Swimming Pool with facilities of Sauna, Jacuzzi, Steam Bath and Massage Parlor. To keep the intellectuals busy we have a well stocked Library. A lush green Lawn with Children’s Playing Area and an esthetically designed Veranda which is a popular rendezvous place during the pleasant Karachi evenings.
A very unique facility that the Karachi Club has to offer its Members is the KARACHI CLUB ANNEXE, is situated on the famous China Creek. Apart from Boating Activities for the members, the Annexe will offer Five Star dinning facilities, Roof Top Bar B Q dinning, a Jogging / Walking Track and a Swimming Pool with an adjoining Health Club which overlooks the Creek.
Each year the Life & Permanent Members of the Club Elect a Managing Committee consisting of a President, Honorary Secretary and 12 Members of the Managing Committee to look after the affairs of the Club.
The Administration of the Club is run by over 500 staff members under the supervision of a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Chief Accountant, Executive Chef, F & B Manager, Chief Security Officer and Heads of Departments of various sporting facilities.
With over 100 years of history behind the Karachi Club, it is still perhaps the only growing Club of the country. With two new plots of land purchased by the Management, adjoining the Main Club, future projects include enhancement and expansion of existing facilities plus adding new facilities such as Underground Parking for 200 cars, an Auditorium with seating capacity for 2000 people, a fully equipped ultra modern Kitchen to cater for over 1000 members a day and Residential Facilities, which is necessary to acquire reciprocal arrangements with some of the most prestigious Clubs of the World with similar facilities, which would prove beneficial for our Members when they travel abroad.
