Tuesday, March 05, 2013 - Karachi—The Abbas Town tragedy was a sad addition to the history of the country as the innocent citizens including men, women and children were the target of the perpetrators. The tragedy was a highly condemnable planned conspiracy to sabotage the peace and tranquility in the economic hub of the country. The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) was shocked to see the perpetrators had once again fulfilled their vested plans to create arson and carnage quite freely and the government had utterly failed to curb the terrorism because the government had no political will.
APML Central Information Secretary Aasia Ishaq expressed these views while talking to newsmen Monday at the Central Information Secretariat in the city.
While expressing profound concern on the ongoing wave of terrorism, Ishaq said that the Northern areas of the country including FATA and PATA and Balochistan were already badly hit by the terrorism while the terrorists had now started targeting the city, which was a candid manifest of the designs of the perpetrators that they wanted to curtail the progress of the country by affecting the trade and economic activities generated from the port city.
It was a high time that the government should make no further delay in announcing the schedule for the coming general elections and announce the formation of the interim government, she urged.
Aasia said that that the Abbas Town carnage that had claimed so many precious lives of the innocent citizens also raised the question of the efficacy of the law enforcement agencies especially the efficiency of the Federal Interior Ministry that had through the Federal Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik time and again leaked information that the terrorists had plans to carry out sabotage activities in the port city but no effective measures were introduced to preempt the perpetrators.
She said that there was no rift between the Sunnite and the Shiite sects but the conspirators had wanted to create the sectarian violence so that the integrity of the country might be questions and put on stake. However, the perpetrators would never be allowed to succeed in their wicked designs.
